An 18-year-old is dead after a crash in Franklin County, police say.

The Maine Dept. of Public Safety says that 39-year-old Melanie Greene was driving on Farmington Falls Rd. in New Sharon Tuesday afternoon, when she rear-ended an Archies recycling truck that had pulled over to pick up recyclables.

According to a news release from the department, her teenage daughter, Kaylie Ladd of Chesterville, died following the crash.

Two other children, a toddler and an infant, were also in the vehicle.

Greene and her other two children suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
