Crash in Eddington leaves 1 dead

One person is dead after a crash in the Penobscot County town of Eddington Monday afternoon.

Deputies say a van crossed the roadway on Route 9 and hit a work vehicle that was legally parked in the breakdown lane head-on.

The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the work vehicle was taken to a hospital in Bangor with injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
