Crews respond to all-hands fire on Peaks Island

Crews responded to a large fire that broke out on Peaks Island in Portland on Thursday afternoon.

Smoke could be seen from the mainland just before 3 p.m.

The Portland Fire Department says the all-hands fire broke out at 4 Highland Avenue, with two buildings fully involved.

Power was cut to the whole island while crews tried to knock down the blaze, but was restored later in the day.

No word yet on the cause of the fire.
