Police standoff in Windham comes to an end after suspect surrenders

A standoff in Windham has come to an end after police say the suspect surrendered peacefully.

According to CBS 13, the incident began around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday when police responded to a report of a disturbance at a home on Forest Avenue.

Police say there were multiple people inside the home, but they were able to get out safely, leaving just the suspect inside. No one was hurt.

Police spent the rest of the morning attempting to get the man to surrender peacefully. He eventually did early Wednesday afternoon and was taken into custody.

The suspect’s name has not yet been released
