Driver of stolen vehicle stopped after pursuit through Oxford County

SACO, Maine (WGAN) Police have charged a Limerick man accused of stealing a commercial vehicle and leading officers on a pursuit.

Police say 46-year-old William Wyman stole a Service Master van in Saco on Thursday around 10 a.m.

Wyman refused to stop for police, instead heading north on Rt. 121 into Oxford.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle with spike mats in Oxford, but failed to do so. Another spike mat was set up on Rt. 26 in Poland, which stopped the van.

Wyman faces a number of charges and was out on bail for another stolen vehicle charge from earlier this month.
