Drug agents seize fentanyl from Bangor apartment; two people charged

Drug agents seized 1.5 pounds of fentanyl from a Bangor apartment.

Maine’s Drug Enforcement Agency arrested 53-year-old Craig Pelkey and 37-year-old Sarah Denbow Wednesday night and charged both with trafficking in fentanyl. The arrests come as part of an ongoing investigation prompted by neighborhood complaints about suspected drug trafficking in the area.

Police seized the drugs during a search of the apartment on Warren Street where the two lived early Wednesday morning and found the fentanyl, along with other evidence suggesting drug trafficking was taking place.

Both Pelkey and Denbow were taken to the Penobscot County Jail. Bail on Pelkey was set at $80,000 in cash. Denbow is being held with no bail due to the fact that she was already out on bail.

The drug investigation continues and police say more arrests are possible.
