PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN) Drug agents seized over two pounds of fentanyl from a Portland man on Wednesday.

The Portland Police Department says Maine’s Drug Enforcement Agency seized the drugs from 21-year-old Hunter York. He was charged with aggravated drug trafficking. The arrest came after an investigation began Tuesday into reports of drug trafficking taking place on Dartmouth Street in Portland. Police believe the drugs were being distributed throughout York and Cumberland counties.

York was stopped by police on Forest Avenue on Wednesday, and was taken into custody after police found the fentanyl and two firearms. They seized more drugs, guns, and drug proceeds after searching his apartment. In total, drug agents seized $140,000 in drugs, along with four guns.

York was taken to Cumberland County Jail where bail was set at $100,000.
