A Maine woman has accused Graham Platner of sexually assaulting her.
The accusations against Platner, who’s faced numerous scandals during his campaign to unseat Sen. Susan Collins, were reported Monday by Politico.
Jenny Racicot dated Platner in the past and told the outlet he forced himself on her when he drove to her house while drunk in 2021.
In a statement issued to Politico, Platner’s campaign called the allegations “troubling, serious, and false.”
In a video posted on X after the story broke, Platner again denied the allegations but said he and his campaign are “taking time to reflect on the best path forward.”
It comes after Platner cancelled three town halls in the last two days, with some local Democrats saying they were told that he wasn’t feeling well.
It follows a string of controversies including accusations of toxic behavior by other former girlfriends, and Platner’s tattoo of a symbol associated with Nazis which he later had covered up.
