Fairfield Man Facing Multiple Charges Following Robbery

LEWISTON, Maine (WGAN)  A Fairfield man is facing multiple charges after a robbery.

Police say around 1 a.m. on Saturday, they were called to the Irving Mainway for a reported robbery.

Police were told a white male wit his face covered went into the store and told the clerk it was an “armed robbery,” though he didn’t show a weapon.

The suspect demanded cash and cigarettes, then took off on foot.

Police say about 20 minutes later, an officer was monitoring activity at the 7-11 when they saw a silver Cadillac drive onto the median and hit a sign near the crosswalk across from Central Maine Medical Center, then keep driving.

Police pulled the car over and found 18-year-old Isaac Sterling inside.

Police say they then found evidence of the robbery inside the car.  They also determined the car had been stolen from the owner’s driveway ahead of the robbery.

As a result, Sterling was charged with robbery, theft, theft of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and operating without a license.  A probation hold was also authorized.

Sterling was taken to Androscoggin County Jail where bail was set at $15,000, on top of the probation hold.
