Federal agencies investigating plane crash in Fryeburg that left pilot dead

A pilot was killed when their small plane went down in Fryeburg on Thursday afternoon.

The two-seat plane known as a “sports cruiser” crashed in the woods near the Eastern Slopes Regional Airport around 2:30 p.m.

The pilot’s name is being withheld for the time being.

The investigation is being handled by the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration.
