Maine fire marshal offering $1,000 reward leading to arrest in bridge arson case


The Maine Fire Marshal’s Office is offering a $1,000 reward for information about a fire that destroyed a historic covered bridge.

The Watson Settlement Bridge in Littleton was badly burned in the blaze on July 19th. Investigators have determined the fire was arson.

The bridge, which spans the Meduxnekeag River, was built in 1911 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The reward money was donated by a local business.
