Fire on the Exterior of the Hub Furniture in Portland, Forced Power Outage for 3,000 Residents

A fire outside of the Hub Furniture in Portland, forced power to be out for 3,000 residents, Sunday afternoon.

The fire started around 1, from a junction box on the brick exterior on the furniture store on Fore Street.

Witnesses say they felt an explosion caused by the fire, that it shook the neighborhood.

CMP did cut power to the area so fire crews could extinguish the fire safely but was restored shortly after.

According to the Portland Press Herald, the only loss that the store received, was the potential business from 10 people browsing, who quickly left the property, and were safe from the fire.
