PORTLAND, Maine (AP)   The ex-wife of a former Trump speechwriter says she’s left Maine amid news reports about her allegations of physical and emotional abuse.

Jessica Corbett told the Portland Press Herald speaking out about her marriage was painful, and she compared her current state to a “black hole.”

David Sorensen resigned Friday as a White House speechwriter amid allegations of abuse.

Sorensen has denied her accusations, and the two have traded allegations of physical abuse. Their divorce became final in September.

For now, she said she’s waiting until she feels safe in returning to her life in Portland with her dog, Frank Underwood, a Wheaton terrier named after the protagonist in “House of Cards.”
