According to the agreement signed June 27, Tom Fortier will see his case dismissed if he completes 100 hours of community service and stays out of trouble by April 2019.

Fortier, the former Ogunquit town manager, was charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and official oppression.

Police say Fortier told town employees to charge for parking in the municipal lot and then pocketed the cash for himself. Officials have declined to say how much money he received.

A judge previously declared a mistrial in his case in November after jurors failed to reach a verdict. Fortier previously described his case as a “character assassination.”
