Four people were rescued from a house fire in Westbrook around midnight Sunday morning.
According to our info partners at CBS 13, Westbrook Engine 3 was diverted from a previous 911 call about a reported family member who wasn’t breathing at a home on Spring Street to attend to the fire.
At arrival of 25 Spiers St. the crew was faced with the report of as many as four people in the house.
With assistance from off duty firefighters, the crew was able to rescue one female trapped on the second floor using a ladder through the window.
Westbrook Fire said a second victim was found on the first floor, and was assisted outside to safety.
Westbrook Police Officers and neighbors helped two men off from a second story roof using a neighbor’s ladder.
Help came from Portland and Gorham and firefighters continued to fight the blaze that had traveled to the basement.
Two of the people at the house were transported to Maine Medical Center with smoke inhalation.
The person at the Spring Street address was resuscitated and was transported to Maine Medical Center with a strong pulse and good respirations.
No firefighters were injured. The fire is under investigation.
