Maine’s Sea Grant funding has been restored by the Trump administration after it was terminated in February.

The University of Maine was notified this week that the $4.5 million is being restored.

The school says Sen. Susan Collins put pressure on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to restore the funding.

The Maine Sea Grant provides coastal workforce and business development and marine education among other programs.
