A Garland woman has been arrested for fatally shooting her sister.

Maine State Police say 69-year-old Bonnie Coombs was arrested on Wednesday for the death of her sister, 78-year-old Velma Withee of Hartland.

Withee was found dead at a residence on Canaan Road in Hartland on April 12.

An autopsy conducted two days later, with Withee’s manner of death determined to be homicide caused by gunshot wounds.

Coombs was taken to Somerset County Jail, where she’s being held without bail.
