AUGUSTA, Maine (WGAN) Governor Janet Mills has extended the state’s civil state of emergency through June 11th.

Mills says the extension allows the state government to continue to deploy all available resources to protect Mainers’ health and safety amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. It also allows Maine to tap federal resources as it continues to equip frontline healthcare workers and support the state’s response overall.

This does not impact Maine’s stay-at-home order or the rural reopening plan, which remain unchanged. That stay-at-home order remains in effect until May 31st, with exceptions for businesses and services that will be allowed to open under the state’s phased reopening plan.
