YORK (WGME)— The State of Maine Fire Marshals is investigating a fire that happened at a home on Freeman Street in York.

According to the York Fire Department, they were dispatched to a large ocean side home in York around 2:30 p.m Friday afternoon.

When crews arrived on scene there were heavy flames on the ocean side of the building. A strong breeze from the ocean fanned the flames and quickly spread the flames throughout.

This was a 3 alarm fire and crews from around the area helped to come to the fire and cover the vacant stations.

York Beach crews remained on scene overnight wetting down hot spots. There were no injuries as a result of the fire.
