Portland Police are investigating the discovery of human remains in a tent on Friday.

Investigators say the remains were found in a camping tent Friday afternoon in the Fore River Sanctuary off Rand Road.

They said the remains appear to have been there for a significant amount of time and that the death does not appear to be suspicious.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death while police work to identify the remains.
