Independent throws hat into ring to unseat Maine U.S. Sen Susan Collins

A former Bar Harbor restaurant owner is entering the race to unseat Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins as an Independent.

Tim Rich, former vice chair of Hospitality Maine, has called out corporations and the two-party system, saying he’s running as a political outsider.

Rich also condemned ICE, saying immigration agents are targeting Maine and kidnapping teenagers walking down the street.

Rich’s campaign is a longshot bid, while Democratic candidates like Gov. Janet Mills and political newcomer Graham Platner vie for their party’s nomination in the race.
