Police say a fire at an apartment building in Bangor was caused by an incendiary device that was thrown inside.

Firefighters responded to the home on French Street around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday night. The fire was quickly put out and caused very minor damage.

A tenant told investigators they saw an object thrown into the building before the fire, which led to the discovery that the object was an incendiary device.

Police are investigating and asking who’s seen anything suspicious in the area to contact them.
