LEWISTON, Maine (Sun Journal) Police in Lewiston are following up on two unrelated incidents involving hatchets.

The Sun Journal reports police responded to a call around 11 p.m. Thursday to a fight involving two groups of people on Sabattus Street, where they found one man bleeding after getting hit with a hatchet. He was treated at the hospital and has since been released. Details about the incident remain unclear, police said. No charges have been filed yet.

The second attack also happened on Sabattus Street near Wood Street on Thursday. Police said a man with a hatchet was attacking another man who came to repossess his car.
