Lewiston’s mayor foregoes second run for office

Lewiston Mayor Mark Cayer will not seek re-election for a second term.

The Sun Journal reports that Cayer will not run again in November. He said the job’s demands, especially during the pandemic, have had an effect on his private investigation business.

Just days before the decision was made public, both the city administrator and deputy city administrator resigned from their positions.
