LYMAN, Maine (WGAN) A 21-year-old man from Lyman is behind bars again after allegedly assaulting another man while out on bail.

Maine State Police say Joshua Ellis broke into a home in Lyman on Saturday night and assaulted the man, who suffered multiple cuts to his head. It was the same man Ellis assaulted back in March which led to his first arrest. He was also previously charged with threatening to burn the victim’s family’s home down.

Police traced Ellis to a home in Kennebunk where he barricaded himself in the bathroom while holding a knife, before jumping out of a window to escape. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Ellis faces several charges and is being held without bail.
