Maine CDC reports 49 new cases of coronavirus, 10 additional deaths

Maine’s CDC reported 10 COVID-19 related deaths in Thursday’s update, as the state continues to review records dating back to the beginning of the pandemic.

Robert Long with the Maine CDC says those deaths were not previously confirmed with a test. They happened between May and December of 2020.

There have been a total of 877 COVID deaths recorded in the state.

There were 49 new cases of the virus in Maine in Thursday’s update.

Meanwhile, the percentage of Maine residents age 50 and older who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 has topped 80%.
