Maine Fire Marshall Investigating Major Waterville Fire

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed an auto detailing business in Waterville over the weekend.

The fire at Morrissette Inc. on College Avenue happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, and the presence of heavy smoke and fire led to the excavation of the building’s metal roof.

Firefighters say a few cars inside and near the building were a total loss.

They say 230,000 gallons of water was used to battle the fire, which took place during Sunday morning’s snowstorm.

Firefighters say no one was injured in the fire as no one was in the building during the fire.

The Fairfield Benton Emergency Services assisted in response and thanked Norridgewock Fire for looking after their town while they were in Waterville.
