Maine Home Heavily Damaged in Fire

Fort Fairfield Fire Rescue

A home in Northern Maine is heavily damaged from a fire, but not totally ruined, according to firefighters.

Fort Fairfield Fire Rescue says it was called to a home on Center Limestone Road with a heavy exterior fire that was heading into the residence, as well as a downed power line.

Firefighters say they quickly contained the fire on the outside and immensely slowed its progress while crews on the inside extinguished the rest of the fire.

They say the residence was turned back over to the homeowner after an extensive overhaul. No injuries were reported.

Fort Fairfield Fire Rescue says it was assisted by three departments at the residence, including Easton Fire Department, Limestone Volunteer Fire Department, and Fort Fairfield Police Department.

The fire was reported at 11:45 a.m. Sunday.
