Maine man charged with murder in death of infant daughter held on bail

Bail is now set at $250,000 for a Maine man accused of killing his infant daughter.

Police found 12-week-old Lyla Samuels unresponsive in Orrington last week and arrested 24-year-old Shawn Samuels, who was charged with murder once Lyla died two days later.

The Bangor Daily News reports the autopsy found Lyla had broken ribs and brain swelling.

Shawn Samuels is in the Penobscot County Jail after making his first court appearance.
