A Lubec man will serve 33 months in prison for stealing guns from a store in Machias and threatening a witness.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maine says 29-year-old Jeremy Lyons will serve his prison sentence followed by three years of supervised release. He will also have to pay restitution.
Lyons was charged with stealing firearms from a federal firearms licensee, witness tampering, and retaliating against a witness. He pleaded guilty in December of 2022.
Court records state that Lyons broke into the True Value store in Machias and stole three Colt pistols in October of 2021.
He reportedly threatened a confidential source who gave information about the investigation to federal law enforcement.
