Maine murder suspect arrested in Mississippi

An Augusta man wanted for murder in Maine was taken into custody in Mississippi on Monday.

Maine State Police say 34-year-old Andrew Redmond was arrested after leading police on a chase in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Redmond is charged in the killing of 34-year-old Tyler Robinson of Augusta in July. Robinson was found unresponsive on the side of Old Belgrade Road in Augusta.

Police say Robinson and Redmond were familiar with each other.

Redmond’s wife, 33-year-old Danielle Redmond, was also charged with failing to comply.

Andrew Redmond was awaiting extradition to Maine as of Tuesday.
