LEWISTON, Maine (AP) U.S. Rep. Jared Golden announced Tuesday that he tested positive for COVID-19 and that he’s resting at home.

“I have mild symptoms and will remain in Maine this week. While I am home, I will vote by proxy according to House rules,” the Democrat tweeted.

It’s unclear where he contracted the virus. The congressman has been vaccinated and has received his booster, a spokesperson said.

Sen. Angus King, an independent, contracted the virus last summer and suffered more serious symptoms.

King, who was treated with monoclonal antibodies, credited the vaccine for keeping him out of the hospital. He was one of several senators who tested positive for the virus around the same time.
