CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine (AP) A Maine music teacher has resigned after school officials discovered allegations of sexual misconduct with a student from another school.

WCSH-TV reports that the former student wrote a social media post calling the teacher a “sexual predator” that was later shared with Cape Elizabeth High School officials. The former student says they were groomed by the teacher at the age of 14 at Brunswick High School.

The teacher was identified as Michael Scarpone. He has not been charged with a crime.

The superintendent says Scarpone was placed on administrative leave when the allegations surfaced and he resigned soon after.
