Man charged after crash in Cornish sends motorcyclist to hospital

A Cornish man who was ejected from his motorcycle in a crash was hospitalized with serious injuries.

According to Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss, the crash happened around 9 p.m. Sunday on Route 25 in Cornish near the Limington line.

The operator of the motorcycle, 47-year-old Justin Bickford of Cornish, was stopping to turn left when a Prius struck the motorcycle from the rear. Bickford was ejected from his motorcycle and taken by LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries. He was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the Prius, 38-year-old Stowell Watters of Limington, was arrested and charged with aggravated driving to endanger and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.

Watters may face more charges.
