Man dies after excavator overturns at Gray work site

A man who was operating an excavator was killed in a workplace accident in Gray.

John Woodman, 61, of Standish died Monday afternoon while working near a petroleum pipeline behind a property on Bull Run Road.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office says Woodman, a long-time employee of Shaw Brothers Construction, suffered fatal injuries when the excavator overturned.

The sheriff’s office, medical examiner and OSHA are investigating the incident.
