Man indicted for burglary and theft at Scarborough jewelry store

A man accused of stealing $30,000 worth of jewelry from a store in Scarborough was indicted by a grand jury last week.

According to CBS 13, police said 32-year-old David McGovern broke into Gurley Antiques Gallery on Payne Road on December 17th and took jewelry from display cases.

He was indicted by a Cumberland County Grand Jury for theft, burglary, criminal mischief and violating conditions of release.

Police say nearly all of the jewelry that was stolen has since been recovered.

McGovern is being held at Cumberland County Jail.
