YARMOUTH, Maine (WGAN) Police say a man was hit and killed by a street sweeper in Yarmouth on Friday morning.

According to our info partners at CBS 13 news, it happened on Main Street around 11:45 A.M. under the Route 1 overpass bridge. Yarmouth police have identified the victim as 57-year-old Paul D. Haley of Farmington. Police say he became trapped under the street sweeper.

Haley was a contractor for Reed and Reed, who released a statement saying they were launching their own internal investigation of the accident.
