A Limington man has serious injuries after an explosion at his home Sunday morning.

Fire crews were called to residence on East Sand Pond Road, where they found the man with serious burns throughout his face and body.

They say the homeowner’s son, who lives across the street, helped his father to safety and used a fire extinguisher to put the fire out.

Early in their investigation, the State Fire Marshal’s Office has found the explosion could’ve been caused by a propane fuel line that was near a heat source inside the residence that the homeowner was trying to ignite.

The homeowner was taken to the Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
