A 45-year-old Massachusetts man faces up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted drug trafficking in Maine.
Court records show Raymundo Dejesus was observed by law enforcement engaging in an apparent drug transaction in Woodstock, Maine.
Investigators recovered a bag containing approximately 35 grams of a substance containing fentanyl, a bag containing approximately 17 grams of cocaine base, and two firearms.
Dejesus pleaded guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Portland to possessing fentanyl and crack cocaine with intent to distribute and conspiracy.
A news release says a federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
Dejesus was identified as an associate of the Trinitario street gang.
FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force investigated the case with assistance from the Rumford Police Department, the Norway Police Department, the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, and U.S. Border Patrol.
