Motorcyclist charged in road rage incident in Knox County

Police arrested and charged a motorcyclist after he allegedly pointed a gun at another driver during a road rage incident.

According to police, Michael Bates of Warren was riding his motorcycle on Atlantic Highway in Thomaston on Wednesday when he passed another vehicle. Police say he pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at the driver of the vehicle he had passed.

They say he then took off at a high rate of speed and passed several other vehicles.

Police caught up with Bates in Warren and found a loaded gun on him. He was arrested and taken to Knox County Jail, where he was released on bail.
