The National Suicide Prevention Hotline has changed numbers to make it easier and more accessible for people in crisis.  The new number is 9-8-8 on all phones and can be called or texted for assistance.

The hotline first came into existence in 2005 as a way for anyone experiencing an emotional or mental health crisis to call for help.  Since then, it has been normalized and greatly popularized following a song by rapper Logic, in 2017, that was titled 1-800-273-8255, the former hotline number.

If you or a loved one are experiencing thoughts of suicide or self-harm, please call 9-8-8 for assistance.
