The owner of a market in Knox County has returned home after he was taken into ICE custody last month.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Dhavalkumar Patel, who goes by Dale, was released from an ICE field office Monday night.

Dale, who owns and operates Wallace’s Market in Friendship, is originally from India and is accused of entering the country illegally in 2010.

His attorney says federal authorities agreed to release him in response to a petition he filed alleging that he was detained illegally.
