AUGUSTA, Maine (AP)   A paper company says it plans to restart a machine whose shutdown left 120 workers with a job.

The Bangor Daily News reports Verso. Corp. announced Thursday it will upgrade its pulp line and paper machine thanks in part to a state grant.

The company shut down the machine as demand fell for the coated paper used in glossy magazines it produced.

The company plans to restart the machine in the third quarter of 2018, make packaging products and create 120 full-time jobs at the mill.

Verso CEO B. Christopher DiSantis said the $17 million project is set to receive $4 million from a Maine Technology Fund Asset Fund 2.0 challenge grant.
