Plans for Portland’s vacant Time & Tempurature Building could change, report says

Plans for a now-vacant landmark building in Portland may be changing.

The owners of the Time & Temperature Building on Congress St. are reconsidering plans to convert it into a luxury hotel.

TT Maine Venture LL is weighing its options and could potentially change course due to rising construction costs, staffing shortages and financing struggles.

It could be years before the building is occupied and in use again.

According to the Portland Press Herald, the company has until Jan. 2026 to start work after getting oks from planning officials to delay the project.
