Graham Platner will no longer be speaking at a Labor Day rally.

The former Democratic Senate nominee who dropped out of the race following a sexual assault allegation was initially scheduled to speak at a rally Monday in Ellsworth.

Platner denied the allegation.

Hancock County Activists, which helped organize the event, said Wednesday the planned speech was drawing negative media attention.

Platner instead will lead a veterans’ march after the rally.
