Police arrest and charge 15-year-old in Lewiston shooting

Lewiston police say a 15-year-old girl has been charged in connection with a shooting.

Lewiston police say they responded to the shooting near 76 Knox Street around 8:30 Sunday night.

The victim, a 22-year-old Lewiston man, was found with a gunshot wound in his left thigh. He was taken to Central Maine Medical Center with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.

A 15-year-old girl was taken into custody and charged with elevated aggravated assault. She was taken to Long Creek Juvenile Detention Center.
