Police Arrest Burglary Suspect

CASCO, Maine (WGAN) Police have arrested a suspect involved in a burglary in Casco Thursday morning.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Nickolas Mains burglarized a home and then stole a vehicle, leading police on a chase. He was wanted on violations of conditions of release, probation revocation, and domestic violence assault.

He was seen late that morning in Gray, but left his vehicle and fled on foot, prompting a lockdown of Gray-New Gloucester schools. Police searched and confirmed Mains was not in the area and the lockdown was lifted, with students being released from school.

He was taken into custody around 3:45 Thursday afternoon
