Police identify driver they say passed a stopped school bus in the breakdown lane in Standish

Standish – the driver of an Audi that police say passed a school bus on the right side while the door was open and a 7-year-old child was about to come out from has been caught and identified.

Police say the incident happened around 3:17 p.m. Monday when the bus was dropping off a child in the area of 1110 Chadbourne Road in Standish.

The incident was recorded on camera.

On Monday, police summonsed the driver, 19-year-old Carly Rioux of Gorham.

Passing a stopped school bus is punishable by a $250fine for the first offense.
