LIVERMORE FALLS, Maine (WGAN) Livermore Falls police say they were notified of a new scam on Tuesday.

Officer Troy Reed says someone received a text from an individual claiming to be a hitman. The texter said the person receiving the message would be killed unless they contacted the unknown suspect within 48 hours.

The texter also says they received photos of the suspect’s last two victims, which turn out to be images lifted from Google.

Reed says anyone who receives a similar text should contact police and not the individual who sent the text.
