Police: Inmate Death Doesn’t Appear to Be Suspicious or Suicide

BANGOR, Maine (WGAN) The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office says an inmate death does not appear to be suspicious.

Police say 37-year-old Jennifer Dyer of Greenbush was found unresponsive and unconscious in her cell early Sunday just before 5am. CPR and first aid was attempted, but Dyer could not be revived.

She had been brought to the jail on Saturday for two outstanding warrants, police say.

An investigation into the cause of death is underway, but police say the death doesn’t appear to be suspicious or a suicide.

Police are not releasing further details as the medical examiner’s office continues their investigation.
